Wizards Officially Reveals Leaked Modern Horizons 3 Cards

Josh Nelson • April 30, 2024

On April 30th, Wizards of the Coast had been dealing with a public relations crisis for about a week. Someone had leaked a large handful of cards from Modern Horizons 3, Magic's next upcoming set. In the wake of these leaks, what else could Wizards do with this news? Well, that answer came in the form of an announcement article. Blake Rasmussen, the Senior Communications Manager for Magic: The Gathering, penned the article, being no stranger to PR dilemmas. In any event, we have the renders of these newly-revealed cards handy for your visual perusal!

According to the text of the article published on DailyMTG.com:

"We've experienced leaks of this magnitude in the past, and each time, we get similar feedback--that there is a significant contingent of our fans who prefer to engage with previews without the fuzzy, distorted potato camera photos getting in their way. We definitely prefer it. [...] That said, leaks of the magnitude we're seeing with Modern Horizons 3 are tough to ignore outright, hence this very article. [...] The official, official debut for Modern Horizons 3 will be May 21. You can join us to relive the rise (and defeat) of the Eldrazi with Magic Story--featuring preview cards--beginning May 13. Random surprises will happen, well, randomly."

Without further ado, Wizards of the Coast revealed these cards in an official capacity (among a few others that had previously been leaked):
